Cake Decorating II: Fondant Basics and Buttercream Flowers

Sold out!!       We have another (non-fondant) buttercream / Halloween designed cake decorating class scheduled for the end of OCT! Check it out!

Love decorating cakes, but not sure how to tackle getting your cakes neatly covered in fondant? This is a great skill to have in your arsenal, and will really take your cake decorating to the next level! In this class we will teach all the basic techniques needed to decorate a cake similar to the one shown above, with your own personal style! Techniques include Tinting Icing, Crumb Coating, Finish Icing, Covering a Cake in Fondant, and Various Piping skills needed to border your cake and make several kinds of Buttercream Flowers.  Cakes will be baked ahead and provided for you. All supplies for decorating are provided for the class.  1 cake provided per person.  Cakes are vanilla flavored. All techniques take practice to perfect, but everyone who takes this class will leave with a lovely cake they can be proud of, and skills to hone for years to come!

COVID 19 UPDATE: At this time we are asking all students to wear a mask to class. We will be taking temperatures at the door, and taste testing, as well as providing hand sanitizer upon your arrival. If you have any symptoms, have been around someone with symptoms, or have traveled outside the country recently we are asking that you please stay home. You may call to cancel your ticket, and we will issue a credit to be used on a future class if you are more than 2 days in advance. Thank you for supporting us during this challenging time! We will do our best to make our classes as educational and fun as ever.

Class ending times may vary. Please wear closed-toed shoes and wear your hair up off your shoulders.  Bring your favorite beverage to drink if you wish. You can bring adult beverages if you’d like. We will provide knives.  We will also provide aprons. We will have filtered water to drink.

Our classes are popular and often sell out!  You must cancel your registration at least 7 days in advance to receive a full refund for this class.  There will be a processing fee to cancel your ticket per person no matter when you cancel. You can cancel by calling the school at 309-263-6020 or by emailing Amanda your request to cancel at thecookeryinc@gmail.com.  Tickets canceled the day before or on the day of class will not receive a refund for ANY REASON.  You may gift your tickets to someone else but we will not refund or forward them to a future class if you cannot attend. No call, no show, no refund.  

If you have a card board gift card with a 3-digit number and want to redeem it for this class, you must call or email to reserve your class spot prior to the class selling out.  If you reserve your spot with a gift card and do not show, you will forfeit the amount owed for the class from your gift card.  If your gift card has a 16-digit code, you can cash it in online when your purchase your ticket.
