January 27 @ 5:30 pm - 8:00 pm

Sold out!  No worries, we do this class all year long!

It’s now 2022, and Indian food is still super new to the United States. There are only about 5,000 Indian restaurants nationwide! Many people assume two things: One, it’s going to be very spicy and two, I’m not going to like it! India may be the largest producer of spices in the world, but their food is not overly spicy. What it is, is vibrant, balanced, fresh, and delicious. And it is definitely more than just curry! In this workshop, we will explore the unique spices, flavors and techniques of India in this class that showcases traditional favorites.  We’ll make dishes such as: Tikka Masala, Kachumbar (tomato & cucumber salad), Mulligatawny Soup, Alu Gobi, Indian Chapati Bread, Beef Samosas, and Kulfi Ice Cream.  We’ll wash everything down with a comforting, warm cup of Masala Chai. Even skeptics will leave this class with a new appreciation (and addiction) for Indian cuisine!

COVID 19 UPDATE: At this time we are allowing optional masking for all students and it is no longer mandatory to wear a mask to class due to the recent state mandate enforced 2/28/22.  We will be providing hand sanitizer at the door upon your arrival. If you have any symptoms, have been around someone with symptoms, or have traveled outside the country recently we are asking that you please stay home and find someone to replace your ticket.  Thank you for supporting us during this challenging time! We will do our best to make our classes as educational and fun as ever.  Class ending times may vary. Please wear closed-toed shoes and wear your hair up off your shoulders.  Bring  a beverage to drink if you wish. We will also provide aprons. We will have filtered water to drink. Byob if you wish.

Our classes are popular and often sell out!  You must cancel your registration at least 3 days in advance of the class date to receive the opportunity to raincheck your tickets to another class (there is a fee to do so). We do not offer refunds for any reason, including Covid related issues. There is a $25 fee (per ticket) to raincheck your tickets to another future class, which is due at the time that you move your tickets. You can raincheck your tickets by calling the school at 309-263-6020 or by emailing us your request to raincheck at thecookeryinc@gmail.com.  Tickets canceled the day before or on the day of class will not receive a refund or rain check opportunity for any reason (even Covid / exposure related – we simply cannot accommodate for this).  You may gift or sell your tickets to someone else (for no fee) if you are not able to come- this is the best option if you have to cancel.

If you have a cardboard gift card with a 3-digit number and want to redeem it for this class, you must call or email to reserve your class spot prior to the class selling out.  If you reserve your spot with a gift card and do not show, you will forfeit the amount owed for the class from your gift card. To cash in your cardboard gift card, contact Amanda at thecookeryinc@gmail.com

If your gift card has a 16-digit code, you can cash it in online when you purchase your ticket.  Codes are case sensitive and require the dash marks to be entered to process the code.
