National Pie Day is January 23rd, let’s celebrate in style this year! Sometimes it is hard to know where to start with pie: single crust, double crust, fruit or cream filled? There are fun twists to the skill set involved with making a crust that can become a favorite dinner or a classic dessert. You see pies on the cover of hundreds of magazines with picture perfect crusts, delicately woven and intricately decorated. In this hands-on class, you will get to taste first hand the makeup of the perfect flaky pie crust, braided crusts and even delectable cut out crusts. We will make a mix of cream, fruit and savory pies in our delicious line up of: our own award winning Apple-Cranberry Crumble Crust, Braided Blueberry, Coconut Cream, Mini Shepherd’s Pies, and Chicken Pot pie in a Savory Herb Crust. This class is great for those who already love to make pies or who may want to start. Pies are not just for the holidays but the perfect dessert for any time of year! It will be an educational, eventful evening sure to leave your taste buds wanting pie in every season!

COVID 19 UPDATE: At this time we are asking all students to wear a mask to class. We will be taking temperatures at the door, as well as providing hand sanitizer upon your arrival. If you have any symptoms, have been around someone with symptoms, or have traveled outside the country recently we are asking that you please stay home. You may call to cancel your ticket, and we will issue a credit to be used on a future class. Thank you for supporting us during this challenging time! We will do our best to make our classes as educational and fun as ever.  All food goes home in a box at this time so that masks need not be removed.  You will get a portion of each dish!

Please indicate the age of your child (children) in the comment sections so we can make sure that their recipes are age appropriate. Class ending times may vary. Please wear closed-toed shoes and wear your hair up off your shoulders.  Bring your favorite knife and a beverage to drink if you wish. We will provide knives if you do not have them.  We will also provide aprons. We will have filtered water to drink.

Our classes are popular and often sell out!  You must cancel your registration at least 7 days in advance to receive a full refund for this class.  There will be a processing fee to cancel your ticket per person no matter when you cancel. You can cancel by calling the school at 309-263-6020 or by emailing us your request to cancel at thecookeryinc@gmail.com.  Tickets canceled the day before or on the day of class will not receive a refund for any reason (even Covid related).  You may gift or sell your tickets to someone else if you are not able to come but we cannot forward them to another class.

If you have a cardboard gift card with a 3-digit number and want to redeem it for this class, you must call or email to reserve your class spot prior to the class selling out.  If you reserve your spot with a gift card and do not show, you will forfeit the amount owed for the class from your gift card. If your gift card has a 16-digit code, you can cash it in online when you purchase your ticket.
