“Gluten” has become quite the fearsome term- in 2020 you could probably rob a store with a loaf of bread! The truth is, a lot of peoples bodies just don’t process gluten normally. After eating gluten, many people report swollen, uncomfortable bellies and things like headaches and skin rashes.  This is largely due to the fact that wheat has been modified quite a bit to facilitate feeding billions of people. The best thing to do is just avoid gluten all together. The issue there? Bread is delicious! We know you miss your bread, but we’ve got tons of dishes that are zero/low carb and still incredibly satisfying. We will also work with popular gluten free grains, and educate extensively on the grains that you can have on a gluten free diet. We’ll make dishes in this class like Gluten Free Pizzas, Chicken and Pineapple Stir fry, Gluten Free Meatballs, Corn and Shrimp Fritters, Cheesy Butternut Squash, Chicken Caesar Lettuce Wraps, and even a gluten free Chocolate Cupcake for dessert! We will even make a gluten free flour – it’s easy!  Come learn how to cook a delicious gluten free meal! You won’t miss the carbs!

COVID 19 UPDATE: At this time we are asking all students to wear a mask to class. We will be taking temperatures at the door, as well as providing hand sanitizer upon your arrival. If you have any symptoms, have been around someone with symptoms, or have traveled outside the country recently we are asking that you please stay home. You may call to cancel your ticket, and we will issue a credit to be used on a future class. Thank you for supporting us during this challenging time! We will do our best to make our classes as educational and fun as ever.

Class ending times may vary. Please wear closed-toed shoes and wear your hair up off your shoulders.  Bring your favorite knife and a beverage to drink if you wish. You can bring adult beverages if you’d like. We will provide knives if you do not have them.  We will also provide aprons. We will have filtered water to drink.

Our classes are popular and often sell out!  You must cancel your registration at least 7 days in advance to receive a full refund for this class.  There will be a processing fee to cancel your ticket per person no matter when you cancel. You can cancel by calling the school at 309-263-6020 or by emailing us your request to cancel at thecookeryinc@gmail.com.  Tickets canceled the day before or on the day of class will not receive a refund for any reason.  You may gift or sell your tickets to someone else if you are not able to come but we cannot forward them to another class.

If you have a cardboard gift card with a 3-digit number and want to redeem it for this class, you must call or email to reserve your class spot prior to the class selling out.  If you reserve your spot with a gift card and do not show, you will forfeit the amount owed for the class from your gift card. If your gift card has a 16-digit code, you can cash it in online when you purchase your ticket.
