Oktoberfest!!!

October 14 @ 5:30 pm - 8:00 pm

$65

Oktoberfest has been celebrated in Germany since 1810, as a celebration for the wedding of King Ludwig I. Today, it is best known as a festival for beer and food, where around 6 million people from all over the world come to participate in the two month long extravaganza. In our class, we want to recreate some classic German food, and incorporate some delicious beers in our recipes, too! We’ll make foods such as: Brussel Sprouts with Bacon and Apples, Pork Schnitzel, Spatzle, Pretzels with Beer Cheese, Potato Kugel, Bratwurst with accompaniments such as Guinness Mustard, Zucchini Relish, and quick Sauerkraut, and even Apple Strudel for dessert! We can’t think of a better menu to kick off the Autumn Season. Come celebrate the fun and food of Oktoberfest- right here in Morton!

COVID 19 UPDATE: At this time we are asking all students to wear a mask to class due to the recent state mandate enforced 8/30/21.  We will be providing hand sanitizer at the door upon your arrival. If you have any symptoms, have been around someone with symptoms, or have traveled outside the country recently we are asking that you please stay home. You may call to cancel your ticket with a two day or more notice, and we will issue a credit to be used on a future class.  No refunds. Thank you for supporting us during this challenging time! We will do our best to make our classes as educational and fun as ever.  Now that our county has moved to Tier 1, we can all enjoy our meal under The Cookery roof again! However, if you feel more comfortable taking all of our delicious foods home in a box, you can do that as well!  You will get a portion of each dish!

Please indicate the age of your child (children) for a child’s class in the comment sections so we can make sure that their recipes are age appropriate. Class ending times may vary. Please wear closed-toed shoes and wear your hair up off your shoulders.  Bring your favorite knife and a beverage to drink if you wish. We will provide knives if you do not have them.  We will also provide aprons. We will have filtered water to drink. Byob.

Our classes are popular and often sell out!  You must cancel your registration at least 7 days in advance to receive a  raincheck for this class.  There will be a processing fee to cancel your ticket per person no matter when you cancel. You can cancel by calling the school at 309-263-6020 or by emailing us your request to cancel at thecookeryinc@gmail.com.  Tickets canceled the day before or on the day of class will not receive a refund or rain check for any reason (even Covid related).  You may gift or sell your tickets to someone else if you are not able to come but we cannot forward them to another class.

If you have a cardboard gift card with a 3-digit number and want to redeem it for this class, you must call or email to reserve your class spot prior to the class selling out.  If you reserve your spot with a gift card and do not show, you will forfeit the amount owed for the class from your gift card. To cash in your cardboard gift card, contact Amanda at thecookeryinc@gmail.com

If your gift card has a 16-digit code, you can cash it in online when you purchase your ticket.  Codes are case sensitive and require the dash marks to be entered to process the code.
