Join us for a class where we will discover the art of making great stocks, which we will then turn into delicious soups and chili to warm you up during the fall and winter months! Learn to make these amazing classics for dinner or just to stock up your freezer, either way, this is a great class for the cook who wants to take it back to the French roots of where it all began. We will learn to make white stock and beef stock and then use those house-made stocks in amazing sauces and soups like Broccoli Cheddar Soup, Insta-pot Tomato Basil, Chicken Soup with Homemade Noodles, Pumpkin Chili, Ham & Black Bean Stew, Cream of Pumpkin, Beer Cheese, Brazilian Black Bean Stew, and Loaded Potato Soup. In this class, we’ll demonstrate not only how to make a perfect soup, but also the best way to freeze them, so that you can have soup ready to go all winter long. It’ll be so handy to have a hearty, scratch-made dinner for your family, in just minutes! After you taste all the soups, we’ll divide them up and send them home ready for your freezer. We will do our best to make our classes as educational and fun as ever. Class ending times may vary. Please wear closed-toed shoes and wear your hair up off your shoulders. Bring a beverage to drink if you wish. We will also provide aprons. We will have filtered water to drink. Byob if you wish.

REFUND POLICY – Our classes are popular and often sell out! You must cancel your registration at least 5 days in advance of the class date to receive the opportunity to raincheck your tickets to another class (there is a fee to do so). We do not offer refunds for any reason, including Covid related issues. There is a $25 fee (per ticket) to raincheck your tickets to another future class, which is due at the time that you move your tickets. You can raincheck your tickets by calling the school at 309-263-6020 or by emailing us your request to raincheck at thecookeryinc@gmail.com. Tickets canceled the day before or on the day of class will not receive a refund or rain check opportunity for any reason (even Covid / exposure related – we simply cannot accommodate for this). You may gift or sell your tickets to someone else (for no fee) if you are not able to come- this is the best option if you have to cancel.
If you have a cardboard gift card with a 3-digit number and want to redeem it for this class, you must call or email to reserve your class spot prior to the class selling out. If you reserve your spot with a gift card and do not show, you will forfeit the amount owed for the class from your gift card. If your gift card has a 16-digit code, you can cash it in online when you purchase your ticket. Codes are case sensitive and require the dash marks to be entered to process the code.
